Academic and Career Counseling
Students and their parents are encouraged to talk with their counselor to learn more about course offerings, the graduation requirements associated with individual programs and early graduation procedures.
Each spring, students in ninth- through eleventh-grades will be provided with information on anticipated course offerings for the next academic year.
Students should work closely with their counselor to make sure that they're taking the high school courses that best prepare them to achieve their future academic goals, such as attending community college, a 4-year university or a technical training program.
The counselor can advise students on entrance exams, application deadlines and automatic admission to state colleges and universities, as well as providing information on financial aid, housing and scholarships.
Information about graduation plans, endorsements and House Bill 5 is available on the Austin ISD website.
Personal Counseling
School counselors at Travis are also available to help students with a wide range of personal concerns including problems like social, family or emotional issues, as well as concerns about substance abuse. The counselor may also provide information about community resources to help address these issues.
Any student who wishes to meet with the counselor should schedule an appointment in the counseling office.
