School Pool–Go Together | Movability
Traffic congestion in Central Texas is getting worse. With a growing population and ongoing construction projects reducing road capacity, getting our children to and from school is becoming more time-consuming and costly. Long lines at school pickup and drop-off also impact student safety and air quality.
To help address these challenges, Travis Heights Elementary is excited to partner with Movability to launch SchoolPool - a carpool, walking, and biking matching program for our families!
SchoolPool provides a safe way for parents and caregivers to request and offer rides, connecting with others who are interested in carpooling kids to and from school or extracurricular activities. It also offers bikepool and walkpool matching for families who live nearby. Whether it’s for a specific event, a season, or the entire school year, families can set up short-term or long-term carpools through SchoolPool.
To our Thunderbird family, if you are interested in participating in this program following these steps:
- Complete the THES SchoolPool Program Interest Form.
- Complete the AISD volunteer background check (it’s free!).
- Once approved, you will receive an email from SchoolPool requesting you complete a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) background check through Checkr.
- After both background checks are complete, SchoolPool will notify you that you have been approved to join the Travis Heights Elementary SchoolPool program and you can connect with other families!
