Hello families!
This week we continue to celebrate Black History Month. Student council is hosting Spirit Day on Wednesday "Dance like no one is watching, dress in your best 70's Disco attire."
We want to recognize our seniors in the top ten percent of their class. This week, we celebrated them with a special breakfast and recognition for their hard work. In addition, a special shout out to the girls' basketball team who made it to the playoffs this season!
We again want to remind parents of the importance of preparation for family crisis situations and other emergencies, including but not limited to immigration enforcement actions. We understand that the recent news cycle has caused some fears and may be affecting attendance. We encourage students to come to school. Develop a plan for the care and custody of your children in an emergency situation.
Parents/guardians should:
Designate a trusted family member or other adult who can pick up your children and care for them if a parent/ guardian becomes unavailable due to arrest, detention, hospitalization, or other reasons.
Check in the Parent portal to ensure the most up-to-date and accurate contact information is on file for this trusted adult and other emergency contacts. Changes to emergency contacts can only be made in-person with the assistance of front office staff.
Talk to your children in an age-appropriate manner about these emergency plans.
If you need any support, reach out to our parent support specialist, Martha Ralston, or your child's counselor/administrator. Their names and contacts are listed in this newsletter below!
